Chattanooga Trip

Our journey to Chattanooga started around 3:15am. We were hoping that the girls would go right back to sleep or stay asleep as we transferred them to the car - yet Isabelle was so excited about the idea of watching movies in the car that she was wide awake for at least the first hour! So by 6am with the sun now rising in the sky, a switch of the drivers and a quick stop for coffee at McDonald's, the DVD player went on for the first time and virtually did not stop the rest of the day! What a great invention ;) The trip down went much better than expected - it took us 16 hours, arriving in Ooltewah at 7pm that night!

Our first outing in Chattanooga was Coolidge Park. It was a gorgeous day, a bit on the warm side though!

We were so excited about meeting Jackson and he is such a cutie!! Jackson and Emma are 4 months apart.

This picture reminds me of a picture we have of Isabelle and Madilyn - since they are also 4 mos apart!

Friday night was spent at Big River Grille Hamiliton Place. Boys at one end of the table - girls at the other!

Anna Kate's pool was a huge hit with Isabelle!

Saturday night Amy & Chris took advantage of their big backyard and had a bunch of friends over for a yummy dinner! It was a great time of playing and visiting.

a sweet moment with Karina and Emma.

Isabelle and Gina. Gina loves the camera and always has such a great smile! Adorable.

Sunday was really busy.. we joined the Brownings for church and a delicious lunch with the Browning grandparents. Then Sharon drove up from Atlanta and we were able to spend some time with her visiting in the backyard while the girls played. To finish off the day we headed up the mountain and had dinner with Margaret and Carolyn!

a group shot - always hard to capture! Isabelle was definitely the troublemaker in this picture.

Anna Kate and Emma. Anna Kate was so sweet with Emma =)

a sister shot

Isabelle loves baseball and was thrilled to play with Margaret's bat.
Isabelle loved playing with Anna Kate and they got along great!

As a sidenote ;) I was able to enjoy Sonic twice and Chick-Fil-A.. Yeah!!

We left again around 3:15am and were sad to say bye to our dear friends. Throughout the whole trip home Isabelle talked about "going back to Amy's house"!! and she still mentions it at least once a day.. The trip seemed to take longer on the way home and ended up taking about 17 hours! These pictures are from our picnic lunch at a rest stop somewhere in Virginia!

Dora seems to be our new fave and she entertained Isabelle a good bit of the trip!

Elmo movies are still fun too..

We had such a great trip and enjoyed seeing everyone! We will have to do it again soon =)

I'm so glad you guys had a great visit! It looks like the weather was beautiful! I'm glad the ride wasn't too, too bad - I'm sure the DVD player really made a difference! The Jackson/Emma pic really does look so much like the pic we took of Isabelle and Madilyn - that is the first thing I thought of, too! And yay for Chick-fil-a and Sonic!

Hope you are having a wonderful Mother's Day!!

Fun times! I love your post! Every time Anna Kate sees a picture of Isabelle she says "Belle?" We need to look into that web cam. :) It is so cute that they are interacting and knowing who each other is now. Can't wait to take a trip up your way soon! Oh and Isabelle can come "back to Amy's house" anytime!
